At the invitation of Goethe Institute, Abegg Trio of Germany held an chamber music concert at Sun Yat-sen Music Hall on September 21st and played Haydn’s “Piano Trio in A Major”, Beethoven’s “No. 70 Trio in D Major” and Schubert’s “Piano Trio in B Flat Major”. Besides, they provided chamber music class of virtuosos for students of Central Conservatory of Music.
Abegg Trio was composed of Ulrich Beetz (violin), Birgit Erichson (violoncello) and Gerrit Zitterbart (piano) and has been concertizing together in the well-coordinated way since its establishment in 1976. Joachim Kaiser, the famous music critic once commented on like this: “These young musicians are extremely earnest towards the music score and the fruits of research. They don’t want to play auspicious and sentimental chamber music, but assume the weighty, aggressive and true interpretation of the strongest inner feelings.”
