“Artists from the mainland, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau present a free great banquet of calligraphy and painting to Xiamen citizens.” A middle-aged man, who visited the painting and calligraphy exhibition entitled “2011 Love of China and Moon of Mid Autumn” at the main exhibition hall of Xiamen Art Gallery told the journalist while taking photos of those works he thought good with the digital camera.
In the painting “Unrecognized Sounds of Spring, Qin, Willow and Rain” of Tan Zhigang, you can hear the gurgling flow of mountain spring. In Feng Yuan’s “Sages of Century”, you can sense the power of thoughts. The huge painting of “The Morning of Xishuangbanna” jointly painted by Liu Dawei, Feng Yuan, Li Naizhou and Du Ziling, the clean and fresh painting of Ou Haonian’s “Sandpiper” and Li Qimao’s “Bodhidharma”, all these paintings are held by audiences in awe and veneration. The floating stripes of red in Hu Nianzu’s “Walking out of the Valley” are unforgettable and mysterious, while Wang Wuxie’s “Great Aspirations III” presents the mystery and unpredictability of ink and color. Lian Jiasheng sincerely “conveys friendship” in his calligraphic works. From September 12th to 19th, 400 masterpieces of calligraphy and paintings from famous artists of mainland, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao are gathered to present a great show in 2011 Love of China and Moon of Mid Autumn.
