On June 29, Dispatching Ceremony of 2012 Chinese Young and Middle-aged Artists Overseas Study Project and Donation Ceremony of Study Project Achievement to Campus was held in Renmin University of China (RUC) in Beijing. Wu Changjiang, vice president of China Artists Association (CAA), Tao Qin, deputy secretary general of CAA, Xu Weixin, president of Art Academy of RUC, Xu Qingping, Xu Beihong Institute of RUC, as well as ten researchers in this annual selection and other researchers in previous sessions attended this ceremony.
According to Wu Changjiang, a breakthrough was achieved in this session in continental coverage so that researchers were given opportunities to visit Africa, South America and Oceania all of which used to be a blank in the entire research of international fine arts in the past. In the past few years, this project is being perfected continuously and has formed such characteristics as clear objective, efficiency in theory and fresh outcome. A kind of strong force has taken shape to promote national art development in China. At the same time, thanks to the efforts made by all the researchers, plenty of current achievement abroad is introduced back home and has enriched database of fine arts circle. A lineup of young and middle-aged Chinese artists with international vision has taken up an initial formation.
