Jointly sponsored by China International Culture Association, China Culture and Art Promoting Society and Beijing Olympic Culture Promoting Society, Creative Cities Collection London 2012 Fine Arts Exhibition, ie, 2012 London Olympic Fine Arts Collection Beijing Invited Exhibition, was opened in the National Art Museum of China on July 13. This exhibition aims at promoting Olympiad development, publicizing Olympic culture and adding splendid artistic colors to London Olympiad. At the same time, more than 130 selected paintings by Chinese renowned artists specially for London Olympiad were exhibited for the first time. Under the theme “Thames River and the Great Wall—Embrace the World” and the key word of Harmony in Development, this exhibition provides an art interpretation of Olympic spirits by means of painting and conveys a common expectation that humankind is inspired to pursue unity, progress, harmony and development.
This domestic exhibition lasted till July 20, and then some specially invited artists both at home and abroad flew to London to participate in the opening ceremony of Creative Cities Collection 2012 London Fine Arts Exhibition & 2012 London Olympic Fine Arts Collection at Barbican Art Center in London on August 1. Over 500 paintings dedicated by well-known artists were exhibited to London and all over the world. When this exhibition comes to an end, the organizing committee will issue related collection album in a global scale.
