Stream of Ravine, thematic exhibition of seal engravings of The Hart of Prajna Paramita Sutra by LIU Yiwen’s five apprentices from Hunan, hosted by Macao Foundation, has been held at the exhibition hall and multi-function hall of Macao Foundation on 7-11, December. The event, with purpose of promoting the development of Chinese traditional culture and art and enlivening local cultural atmosphere, is committed to allowing more people in Macao to acknowledge and experience the charm of Chinese seal engraving artworks.
SHAO Bin, Assistant Director of Department of Publicity and Culture of Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in Macao SAR, ZHONG Yi, Acting chairman of Administrwoative Committee of Macao Foundation, WU Shiming, a member of the trust committee of Macao Foundation, JIANG Zhi, Assistant prosecutor general of the procuratorate, LIU Yiwen, a researcher of Shanghai Museum and member of Shanghai Museum of Culture and History, CHAO Yukui, Vice-chairman of Shanghai Calligraphers Association, SUN Jian, Deputy-director of Changsha TV Station of Hunan Province, KONG Xiaoping, Vice-chairman of Hunan Calligraphers Association, CAI Cailian, Deputy-general editor of Macao Daily, LI Ying, President of Macao Art Association, XIAO Chunyuan, President of Macao Calligraphy and Seal Engraving Association and others have attended the opening ceremony.
Some 65 pieces of seal engraving artworks concerning the Praj?āpāramitā H?daya of LIU Yiwen, a seal engraver’s five apprentices from Hunan, including LI Li, WEN Zuo, ZHU Jiang, CHEN Gang and LI Ying have been displayed at the exhibition, amongst which highlighting a set of Praj?āpāramitā H?daya with joint efforts of five seal engravers. LI Li, a representative of all exhibitors, said that the exhibition in Macao was both a display and review of the art of seal engraving of the past few years and a commemoration and celebration of the return of Macao to the motherland.
